Most crafted items in The Front including tools, weapons, gear, vehicles, and structures have a Durability stat. When an item's Durability reaches 0, it will need to be repaired.
Repairing Tools
Collection tools such as axes, pickaxes, knives, and shovels will lose Durability on use. Once their Durability drops to 0, you will no longer be able to use them, and you will need to repair them or craft new tools. So long as you have sufficient materials, you can repair tools directly from your inventory, or at the workbench where they were crafted.
Repairing Weapons
Weapons such as flintlock pistols, shotguns, semi-automatic pistols, submachine guns, and more will lose Durability on use. Once their Durability drops to 0, you will no longer be able to use them, and you will need to repair them or craft new ones. So long as you have sufficient materials, you can repair weapons directly from your backpack or at the workbench where they were crafted.
Repairing Gear
Gear such as topwear, pants, helmets, and gloves will lose Durability only when your character is attacked while wearing them. Once their Durability drops to 0, they will no longer provide defense bonuses, and you will need to repair them or craft new gear. So long as you have sufficient materials, you can repair gear directly from your backpack or at the workbench where it was crafted.
Repairing Vehicles
The Durability of vehicles is expressed as HP. Vehicle HP will be lost when attacked and also when subject to adverse weather. Once a vehicle's HP drops to 0, it will be irreparably damaged. Therefore, repairs will need to be performed BEFORE the vehicle's HP drops to 0 and it is destroyed. Vehicles can only be repaired at Vehicle Factories.
Repairing Structures
Structure Durability will be lost when attacked and also when subject to adverse weather. Once a structure's Durability drops to 0, it and all structures supported by it will collapse. Press the H key while looking at a structure to see its current Durability. Currently, there are two ways to repair structures in-game: through the use of repair hammers, and through automatic repairs performed by Spacetime Beacons. A repair hammer can only repair one structure at a time, while a Spacetime Beacon will repair all structures within range at the same time.
